In England an AAC access call for evidence

Confirmed consultation — closes 20 November. Policy Connect is collecting evidence about how children and adults obtain and continue using AAC in England. It covers recognition and referral, assessments, trials, eligibility, funding, mounting, software, training, maintenance, replacement and transitions between services.

AAC users, families, schools, clinicians, commissioners and user-led organisations can contribute. A shorter accessible survey and support with responding are available. This was published on 16 October.

Why it matters: The inquiry considers the complete communication journey, including what happens when someone does not qualify for a specialised AAC service.
